Long time comin’

I haven’t posted much here lately because I have been insanely busy with my classes and making new art. I am hoping to post some pics this weekend of the art I have been making and some of the work for the Monsterama book. I am trying to get my Squatthrust Journal #2 out first and then on full speed to finishing the Monsterama #1 for sale hopefully at the beginning of Summer. Can’t wait. Blaarrrgh!

Hi everyone, I have been blogging for a couple of years over at my squatthrust blog. This blog is going to focus on all the things I loved growing up including monsters and sci-fi. It will also be the place for me to talk about new comics and books or toys that I am working on.

I remember having a conversation with an editor at the newspaper I used to work for where she told me “you can’t do monsters on everything.” She was referring to the illustrations I was doing. She was wrong. You CAN use monsters. They are a great metaphor and let’s face it. They are cool. The problem today is that the great culture of visual information that I and my friends grew up with (comics, toys, cartoons) is all but gone.

I would like to see that change.
